Eric Egeland
PRESIDENT
Meet Eric Egeland, the visionary leader behind Capacity Consulting’s two-decade legacy of strategic and management consulting excellence. Since 1999, Eric has been instrumental in driving the success of numerous entities across diverse industries.
With a robust portfolio encompassing feasibility studies, funding projects, strategic plans, and market analysis, Eric and his team have consistently delivered invaluable services to clients in the private, public, Tribal, and non-profit sectors. As a published author and renowned thought leader, Eric brings a wealth of expertise and a commitment to delivering actionable insights.
Under Eric’s guidance, Capacity Consulting has achieved remarkable milestones, including establishing turnkey insurance companies and facilitating multiple company IPOs. Their clientele spans from municipalities and Tribes to private sector giants, showcasing their ability to cater to entities of all sizes and revenue scales.

Martyna Triggs
VICE PRESIDENT
Meet Martyna Triggs, a seasoned professional with a knack for turning curiosity into successful business ventures. With over 10 years of experience in business planning, feasibility analysis, and economic impact reports, Martyna has honed her skills across diverse projects.
One of her standout achievements was managing the “New York State Casino Study,” a pivotal project that secured Sullivan County’s $1.2-billion Resorts World Catskills casino. She also spearheaded the “Doubleday Field Market and Economic Impact Report” at the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame, conducted real estate rate studies for Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, and orchestrated an organizational redesign for Quality Surgical Management in Miami, Florida.
In her role as Project Manager, Martyna led various projects and fostered relationships with Capacity’s Tribal clients, including the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, Delaware Nation, Kashia Band of Pomo Indians, Burns Paiute Tribe, Nansemond Indian Nation and others. Her extensive experience extends to collaborating with county and local governments, Tribal sovereign nations, businesses, non-profits, and entrepreneurs, aiding them in achieving their goals and paving the way for growth and scalability.
Martyna’s passion lies in business development that not only benefits individual enterprises but also stimulates local economies and fosters job growth. Armed with her wealth of experience and exemplary leadership qualities, Martyna Triggs is well-equipped to guide business owners and their teams in creating robust business and financial models that drive sustained growth and revenue.
Paul Scheuren
ECONOMIST
Paul Scheuren is an economist and leads our economic and fiscal impact model development. He conducts analyses for larger projects, having prepared analyses of hospitals, mixed-use developments, oil and gas projects, manufacturing firms, and a variety of other activities. Additionally, Paul has completed several successful economic analyses for the USCIS EB-5 program. He is an expert in understanding and modeling local tax structures for fiscal impact studies and has extensive experience applying common economic impact models. Paul holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Actuarial Science from Temple University.
Laurie Dupont-Sherard
FINANCE DIRECTOR
Laurie handles all finance matters for Capacity Group. Prior to Capacity, she was a Staff Accountant for Margolis Healy and the National Center for Campus Public Safety where she was responsible for overseeing the accounting department. Prior to joining Margolis Healy and the National Center, Laurie worked as a Tax Examiner in the Corporate Tax Department for the State of Vermont. She also spent several years working with Fortune 500 companies in the field of captive insurance, one of the leading businesses in Vermont, as a Manger for Aon Risk Management and Marsh Captive Management.
Though born and raised in Vermont, she spent several years living in Germany and Indiana. She served three years in the United States Army as a Legal Specialist living in Wildflecken, Germany.
Laurie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Davenport University in 2000. She also has an associate’s degree in Office Management-Executive Assistant.
Matt Dorcas
MARKETING DIRECTOR
Matt Dorcas is Capacity Consulting’s Creative Director, an award-winning marketing professional with over two decades of experience. He has led high-visibility projects, including a Telly Award-winning collaboration with renowned poet Maya Angelou. His work with Tribal Nations has been instrumental in creating marketing strategies that foster both economic growth and cultural preservation. With six years as an entrepreneur and extensive private sector experience, Matt brings a unique blend of creativity and strategic insight to Capacity's clients, ensuring high-quality, impactful marketing solutions.
Nancy Proyect Rider
Nancy Proyect Rider joined Capacity Consulting in 2024, bringing a wealth of expertise in research, community development, and stakeholder engagement. Her work has centered on project management, strategic planning, and grant writing for private businesses and nonprofit organizations. Before joining Capacity Consulting, Nancy led nonprofit organizations focused on public policy, advocacy, and education for underserved populations, where she collaborated with local governments, nonprofits, foundations, and the private sector to develop actionable recommendations addressing complex issues.
Nancy has contributed to numerous high-impact projects, including placemaking strategies for communities such as the Villages of Montgomery and Washingtonville, NY, and economic development plans like "Cornwall Rising" in the Town of Cornwall, NY. Her diverse portfolio spans creating organizational fund development and strategic plans for institutions like the Newburgh Armory Unity Center and leading market analyses for New Century Films. Most recently, she has managed initiatives such as the Orange County Quality of Life Report Card and supported long-term planning efforts for organizations like Leadership Orange.
Her expertise extends to placemaking, stakeholder engagement, and organizational strategy, supported by strong skills in grant writing and research. Nancy holds a BA in History and African American Studies from SUNY Cortland and is certified in teaching through CUNY Queens College. Her comprehensive approach to community and economic development is marked by a commitment to creating actionable, strategic solutions tailored to the needs of the organizations and communities she serves.
